I Ranked Premier League Clubs – 81/100 and Every Arsenal Fan Will Hate My #4

Scored 81/100 on Premier League Clubs. Got the top 3 spot on, but my Arsenal placement is going to cause problems. Full breakdown inside.

I Ranked Premier League Clubs – 81/100 and Every Arsenal Fan Will Hate My #4

81 out of 100 on Premier League Clubs. That's my best score across any football category and honestly I'm still a little surprised by it. I got the big three exactly right, made a couple of slightly controversial middle-of-the-list calls, and came dangerously close to a perfect score before Arsenal happened. Here's the breakdown.

My Rankings vs The Community

My Rank Club Gap vs Community
1Manchester City✓ Spot On
2Liverpool✓ Spot On
3Manchester United✓ Spot On
4Arsenal±3 off
5Chelsea±2 off
6Tottenham✓ Spot On
7Newcastle United±1 off
8Aston Villa±1 off
9Leicester City✓ Spot On
10West Ham United✓ Spot On

Where I Was Spot On 🎯

Six spot-on picks including the entire top three. Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United locking in perfectly reflects the Premier League's modern order of dominance — City's era-defining run, Liverpool's Klopp legacy, and United's historical weight even through a difficult recent stretch. The community is in strong agreement on this podium.

Tottenham at #6 might raise eyebrows for Spurs fans who still believe the glory days are coming, but the community is realistic about where Spurs actually sit in the Premier League pecking order. Good club, not elite. The consensus lands there and so did I.

Leicester at #9 felt like the right call — one of the greatest underdog stories in football history, but ultimately a club that's spent time back in the Championship and doesn't have the infrastructure to challenge consistently. The community agreed.

The Arsenal Problem

I put Arsenal at #4. The community moved them three spots. I'm not backing down on this one, and here's why: Arsenal haven't won a Premier League title since 2004. They've been consistently good in the Arteta era, genuinely exciting to watch, and they came close — but close doesn't move rankings for me. Three-spot disagreement with the community suggests a meaningful chunk of players are giving Arsenal more credit for recent performance than I think their trophy record warrants.

Is the community rating current-Arsenal higher because of how they've played over the last two seasons? Almost certainly yes. The rolling 10-day window means community sentiment is sensitive to recency — and Arsenal have been genuinely impressive recently. If you're playing this category, learn from my mistake and adjust Arsenal upward from your gut instinct. The community is reflecting current form more than historical record.

Chelsea at #5 (±2 Off)

Two spots off on Chelsea — a club that's spent north of £1 billion over the last two years and has relatively little to show for it in terms of trophies. I ranked them #5, thinking their spending and historical pedigree keeps them in the top tier. The community moved them two positions, which suggests either they're ranked lower (reflecting the chaos of recent years) or higher (reflecting potential). Two spots is a noticeable but not catastrophic miss — and honestly, Chelsea in any given ranking feels like a coin flip right now given how turbulent the club has been.

Final Verdict: 81/100 – "Sharp Eye"

81 out of 100 is the best football score I've managed and probably my highest overall. Six spot-on picks, nothing worse than ±3. The top three being perfect helped enormously — those are high-consensus picks that carry significant weight in the scoring.

The only lesson: if you follow English football closely and you're tempted to dock Arsenal for not winning trophies recently, the community doesn't fully agree with you. They see the current Arsenal project and rate it more generously than a pure historical CV would suggest. Factor that in and you'll probably do better than I did on positions 4 and 5.
